A longtime fan of sharing, Gaurav Kohli conceived JustShareIt while trying to solve a personal problem. He was on his way to a wedding in India in August 2010 when he thought, "Why don’t I stay in India for a while and just rent my house and car in California while I’m gone?"
At the time, he was unable to find services that could actually help him share his property for an indefinite amount of time. His background in the automobile industry and his passion for technology and security inspired him to explore car sharing as a business model. While engrossed in his research, he recalled an expensive boat rental experience at California’s Lake Berryessa and thought, "Why stop at cars?"
Gaurav’s journey unfolded as other person–to–person (p2p) platforms began to emerge, demonstrating that this new shared way of life is more than just one person’s vision. He and his team have worked tirelessly to expand insured and secure sharing to include unique rides so that you and the rest of the JustShareIt community can effortlessly unlock your next adventures.
Your car sits idle an average of 22 hours per day. Yet according to AAA, average car costs can total $8,500 per year, including loan/lease payments, maintenance, parking and insurance. Through sharing, you can turn an underused, expensive possession into an asset for your community!
When you share a vehicle, you’re benefiting the environment.
